Sipping sustainably

Welcome to our sustainability page, where we’re proud to share the sustainable practices we have implemented at Lacons, including off-setting 3 acres of land to re-wild for bee habitat, introducing electric forklift trucks and ways to reduce our energy and water consumption.

Sustainable business practices are essential for our company’s long-term health and success, the planet, and future generations.

We know sustainable business practices are essential for our planet, our company’s long-term health and success and future generations.

Sustainability

In 2021, we took steps towards helping the planet by off-setting 3 acres of land to rewild for bee habitat. We also introduced beehives, managed by our beekeeper, and now use the honey from our bees each year to brew Bloom, our floral honey seasonal ale.

In 2019, we invested in a shrink-wrap baler, an innovative machine that promotes environmental sustainability. We can significantly reduce our plastic waste by compacting and baling plastic film or shrink wrap material from pallets or other packaging. The bales can then be sold to recycling companies that can turn them into new products, diverting the plastic from landfills and oceans. This process helps us to reduce our carbon footprint and protect the environment for future generations. We transitioned our forklift truck fleet to electric to reduce our carbon footprint. Not only do we save energy, but we also contribute to cleaner air and a greener planet.
